Sarah E. King

Born and raised in Alexandria, Sarah Elliott King was exposed to residential real estate early. In and out of houses with her father Sam King, president of a leading local savings and loan, she developed a sense of neighborhoods throughout Northern Virginia and a special insight into the financing of residential properties.
Sarah has now been a successful real estate agent in Alexandria for over 41 years, primarily handling the sale and lease of residential properties. Her ability to recommend and assist with the range of services needed by buyers and sellers in the process of the transaction and move, and her knowledge of Alexandria and the broader Northern Virginia community, set her apart from others in the business. Outside of Northern Virginia, Sarah has cultivated active referral relationships that allow her to respond to client needs across the entire metropolitan Washington region.
Sarah understands the importance of community. She has served on the Alexandria Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, as the Honorary Chairperson for the Alexandria Historic Homes Tour to benefit Alexandria Hospital, and co-chaired the Hospital’s 125th Anniversary Gala. She also co-chaired the inaugural gala for the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria and was a founding member of the Giving Circle of Alexandria.
Active in area garden clubs, Sarah appreciates the value of a home’s exterior landscape. She served on the committee for the annual meeting of the Garden Club of Virginia, the “Magic Moments” Flower Show Committee for the Garden Club of Alexandria, and the committee for “Tables by Design” for Red Hill Garden Club. She hosted both the Garden Club of Virginia Annual Meeting luncheon and the judges’ luncheon for the “Magic Moments” Flower Show at her home in Alexandria on West Braddock Road, where she lives with her husband of 33 years, Lyles Carr.
Sarah graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
